We refer to our Seniors Adult Ministries as ENCORE ministries because the best is yet to come. These ministries focus upon the needs of adults 55 years and older. Seniors have a wealth of experience and wisdom to draw upon, having walked with the Lord for many years. The Bible exhorts us to respect our elders and serve them with respect, honor and love. Encore ministries offer Sunday School, Bible Study Classes, and other learning and teaching opportunities especially suited for seniors. We also have many fellowship and fun activities scheduled throughout the year to include travel opportunities coordinated through ENCORE TRAVELERS.
We also provide several volunteer service opportunities, such as Visitation, Forget Me Not, Bridge Builders, and other ministries. Our desire is to offer programming that keeps seniors engaged and helps to make our seniors feel appreciated. Our seniors are highly valued in our body and they are loved and treasured and actively involved making significant contributions to the ministries of the church and to the community in which we serve. We work actively to provide ministry opportunities and resources to help adults 55 years and older enjoy abundant and fruitful lives.

The Seniors at Creekside are busy travelers. They enjoy everything from day trips around Northern California to trips to foreign lands. The local trips are in modern, safe coaches with comfortable seating and good ventilation and excellent tour planning and coordination. Some recent trips are to the Schulz Museum (of Charlie Brown fame) in Santa Rosa and of course a good lunch followed by a visit to the chocolate factory of Jack London Village. Another two day adventure this past September was entitled “Skunk Train, Seashore & Seabiscuit" to beautiful Mendocino County. It included a fun Skunk Train ride, which exceeded our expectations, followed by an incredible barbeque lunch along the way. We stayed the evening at a very nice lodge and spent some time at the beach followed by a delicious sunset meal at the Cliff-House Restaurant. This was followed by a stop at the huge Ridgewood Ranch, the final resting place for the little racehorse with a big heart, Seabiscuit, followed by a scenic trip back to Elk Grove. There have been one day trips to San Francisco, Apple Hill, Tahoe and others. Sound like fun outings? They were! Every trip is oversubscribed because they have all been fun, well planned and coordinated experiences. There have also been trips to Europe, Scandanavia and Israel for our world travelers.
